Introduction
This is a method for publishing a web site to the Internet. It demonstrates the necessary steps needed to successfully publish a web site to a web server. RealTourNet (RTN) primarily uses this method for clients to follow. It prepares them for steps and tasks during website development. I have attempted to write in a format for non-technical users by eliminating any unnecessary technical terminology. If you have any question about Internet terminology refer to one of the best resources, Wikipedia.org.
If you are a "do-it-yourselfer", learn the administration tools by signing up for demo accounts and test each tool to see if it fits your need. It also helps to have some technical skills such as HTML, Digital Image Processing and knowledge of how to manage a web server, like uploading data and files to a server (FTP or HTTP). Factors such as experience with online services, comfort level with purchasing services online, and ability to learn various online administration processes is a key ingredient for success.

Site "Look & Feel"
The end results of a sites appearance depends highly on the ability to use HTML or an HTML Editor, Cascading Style Sheets (or a consistent web site style), Graphic Design, The Internet, and various software packages for graphic design and site development.
Web Page Development
To one extreme web pages can be
built with a "text-file" program or "notepad" program that comes standard
on all computers. However, this method may not be suitable for first
timers. There are inexpensive graphic design and web page editor
software packages at most all computer retailers. Software such as Macromedia's ColdFusion
&
Dreamweaver
or
Studio MX with Flash Pro
are excellent tools to get started but require a large time investment
learning how to use the software. RealTourNet uses a wide variety of
resources and software packages to achieve desired results. This is
one position where we provide our customers with high value and low cost.
